Introduction to Tapestry Weaving

Slow down and create something beautiful. Weaving is a visually and intellectually stimulating craft. At the same time, it is slow and meditative. The feel of the wool as you weave makes it a very tactile craft as well. In this course, students will learn the basics of tapestry weaving. All aspects of the weaving process, including setting up (warping) the loom, basics of good design and how to create a "weavable" design, shape making and controlling the tension of your weaving will be covered. In addition, students will learn color selection and how to blend and mix yarns to open up a multitude of effects that can be achieved with color. This course has no prerequisites and is suitable for beginners.
