Security+ teaches the skills to plan, implement, and maintain information security.
Competencies:

- Operate network and host-based security, including protocols, firewalls, and wireless security.
- Organize identity and access management, including authentication, authorization, and account management.
- Identify threats, attacks, and vulnerabilities and explain how they can be mitigated.
- Devise cryptography techniques
- Explain the importance of security architecture and design and develop secure network architectures.
- Organize risk management, including risk analysis, risk mitigation, and business continuity planning.
- Infer the impact of laws, regulations, and compliance on IT security, including privacy and sensitive data issues.
