This beginner-level course is designed for students who have some basic exposure to Japanese and would like to build confidence in speaking. Students should be familiar with simple greetings and basic expressions (such as self-introductions and very basic phrases). Through guided conversation practice, pair activities, and real-life scenarios, students will strengthen their pronunciation, expand vocabulary, and develop comfort using simple sentence patterns in everyday situations. The class provides a supportive and low-pressure environment focused on practical communication and steady progress.

Prerequisites: Japanese 1 and 2, or equivalent knowledge.

They will learn to read and write Hiragana and get acquainted with the essentials of Japanese grammar.

For students who have taken one quarter of Japanese or the equivalent. In Level 1 you learned Hiragana. In Level 2, you will learn to read and write Katakana. There will also be emphasis on strengthening communication skills through simple conversations and exercises.

For students who have taken four quarters of Japanese or the equivalent. Emphasis on strengthening conversational skills, social and business etiquette, and Kanji.
