    Spanish 1 is an introductory course for learners with little or no prior experience in the language. Students will develop basic communication skills, including greeting others, introducing themselves, and asking simple questions in Spanish. The course emphasizes everyday vocabulary and practical conversation topics such as family, daily life, and leisure activities. Learners will also explore cultural aspects of the Spanish-speaking world while building confidence speaking and interacting in Spanish. Students will learn to speak, read, and write Spanish using basic vocabulary and expressions in the present tense.

    This course helps learners build confidence and expand their ability to communicate in Spanish. Students practice talking about daily life, family, time, places, weather, and seasons, as well as sharing personal information and future plans. The focus is on practical conversation skills and cultural awareness to support real-life communication in Spanish. Students will have practice opportunities using the present and informal future tenses and will expand expression in practical situations, including getting acquainted and ordering food.
