Horror films are one of cinema's most enduring and imaginative genres. From campy monsters and eerie supernatural forces to deranged serial killers and unstoppable forces of nature, horror offers endless ways to entertain - and provoke thought. In this discussion-based course, we'll explore how horror films reflect deeper ideas about faith, race, gender, society, and the nature of violence.

Students will examine major horror sub-genres, watch and discuss key examples, and work together to determine what truly defines a horror film. Whether you're a devoted fan or new to the genre, this class offers a lively and engaging way to appreciate horror as both entertainment and art.

Online courses require an internet connection and the ability to interact both through audio and video using either a web cam/microphone, speakers/headset using a computer or via a mobile phone connection. Depending upon the class, students will need to download either Zoom or Microsoft Teams apps to attend and participate in class sessions. There is no additional cost for these applications.

The focus of this class is learning to play piano in a relaxed and fun atmosphere. Students should have a basic familiarity with piano, preferably having taken the beginning piano class already. This class will aid students in taking the next steps on their piano journey, deepening the learning of the skills from beginning piano.

Topics include: staff reading, rhythm, chords and lead sheets, and major and minor triads. Each class will center around some technique review and learning several pieces, first from a lead sheet with chords and then as a piano solo. Students will vote on their choice of style the week before class begins.
