The Clinical preceptorship is divided into two parts: 24 hours in the skills lab and 160 hours working one on one with a clinical preceptor in a healthcare facility. The skills lab provides the student opportunity for repetitive practice of basic nursing skills prior to clinical experience. Each student is expected to practice self-directed learning, asking questions, practicing until beginning mastery skill ability is achieved. Each RN Refresher student then works directly with a Registered Nurse preceptor in a healthcare setting to meet appropriate student's learning goals.
