    Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting (ARFF) Training Programs

    Our mission is to provide the ARFF Community the education and practical experience in Aircraft Rescue and Fire Fighting.  By using the latest techniques, trainees will gain knowledge and experience in this complex emergency environment.  Upon successful completion, trainees will be certified in FAA required instruction and take home the knowledge and confidence needed to perform effectively during an aircraft incident.

    5 Day/40 Hour ARFF Basic Certification Training in partnership with the FAA and the Port of Moses Lake. (Meeting FAR139.319 guidelines)

    Our 5 Day Certification Training course includes:

    • 24 Hours of classroom lecture, review, and Q&A … To include Safety Briefings and Instruction in the areas of: Aircraft Familiarization, Tactics and Strategies, Extinguishing Agents, Hazardous Materials and Dangerous Goods, Forcible Entry/Tools, Search and Rescue, and Fire Stream Application.
    • 8 Hours of Hand line and Truck Tactics. Search and Rescue training using smoke filled fuselage and forceable entry experience. Tour of commercial aircraft and the BBCC aircraft maintenance (AMT) hangar with hands on demo of aircraft systems and parts including doors.  Simulated off road driving of Oshkosh T-1500 crash truck.
    • 8 Hours of Live Fire Drills including the use of diesel fuel for the most realistic experience available! (Fire Stream Application, Drills with Hand lines, T-1500 ARFF vehicle)


    There may be daily testing during in class portions and a final test at the end of training.  All books and supplies will be provided!

    BBCC Flagging Training Itinerary

    TRAINING LOCATION:  BBCC Campus, Bldg 1800 ATEC Center

    There is FREE parking in all lots at BBCC.

    START TIME: Training will begin promptly at 8:00am.

    Trainee Registrations and payment MUST be received prior to arrival at the Training Facility.  If your employer is paying for your registration, arrangements should be made directly with your employer and CBIS.  All training materials will be provided to you once you have checked into the training classroom. 

    LOCATION OF TRAINING: The classroom will be located inside Bldg 1800 (ATEC CENTER).  There will be signage, once inside, to locate the specific classroom.

    LUNCH: There will be a lunch break, but time will be at the discretion of the trainer.  Lunch is the responsibility of each trainee. There are deli’s close by:  Maggies Kitchen and JetAway Deli at the airport if you need to purchase food. There are also quick, frozen items, snacks, and beverages in vending machines in the 1800 bldg if you are interested.

    END TIME:  Training will be completed no later than 5:00pm, dependent on when you finish your test.
