We live in the world of the visual–from Youtube and TikTok to Zoom meetings to a world wide web of streaming services. And almost every video posted online or broadcast the old-fashioned way (not to mention films), is edited. Everything goes through a post-production process; sometimes with a crew, sometimes with just you. This course is for those who want to learn more about the video editing process and gain the tools and hands-on experience to push image and sound. We will review the tools you need and get to work on the software used all over the world. We will cover single camera edits, multi-camera edits, audio, graphics and color correction. Along the way, you will gain skills and confidence in putting together your own projects or working on others’ projects. [This course is currently planned to be offered online only, as access to the lab facility is limited. Because of that, there is no “one” software that will be presented; most editing software works on the same principles and will be shown accordingly.]
