    This class is a continuation of Chair yoga I, but new students are welcome to join. Chair yoga is designed for students who have physical limitations preventing them from participating in a standard class. During our six-week class together, you will learn sequences to open and align the body from a seated position that you can make part of your daily routine. We will also explore meditation and breathing practices that decrease anxiety and generate a positive connection to the body.

    Bead Therapy: Healing Through Creativity is an expressive arts course that explores the connection between creativity, mindfulness, and cultural storytelling through jewelry making. Using natural and semiprecious stones, participants will learn how color, texture, and symbolism can inspire emotional reflection and personal expression.

    In this course, we will discuss the struggles that often accompany growing older, and how to cope effectively with them. We will consider the physical and cognitive changes that can develop, the various losses that are common with aging, and the effects of society’s attitudes toward older people. We will also emphasize the importance of maintaining autonomy and reimagining one’s purpose in later life. Each session will include a presentation and class discussion.

This six-week discussion course helps you make sense of today’s medical reporting and learn what the evidence really shows. Each class session will cover a health issue of particular interest to seniors including: brain and memory health, nutrition, heart disease, joint care, osteoporosis, cancer screening, and medication safety. No science background required—just curiosity and a desire to become a smarter health-news consumer. Leave with practical tools to judge health information confidently and talk with your doctor more effectively.
