We’ll also look at reasons why people choose to live in risky places and some of the factors that affect their perceptions of risk and their likelihood of preparing for potential disasters. Did you know that origami techniques are used in space, architecture, fashion, and medicine? Some major breakthroughs can thank origami for their development.

Did you know there are many different types of origami? In modular origami you make several copies of a single unit and then connect them without glue or tape. Action origami models move and change. Wet folding facilitates delicacy and curves. Pureland origami allows only mountain and valley folds. Tessellations cover a plane with twist folds. Origami is an exciting and varied artform to explore!

Start your origami journey here. During our 6 weeks together, you will fold several models that together will provide a peek into this variety and begin to develop your technique! You will be asked to support your learning and enjoyment by a small amount of folding outside of class.

Supplies will be provided for this intro course.
