An Advocacy Primer for the Engaged Patient    NEW!

Today's healthcare system can be confusing and difficult to navigate. Patients and consumers get more from their own healthcare when they are active participants and let their healthcare providers know what is important to them. This two-part course explores topics crucial to effectively navigate today's healthcare system, including how to effectively communicate with your provider, how to be your own best advocate, and patient's rights and safety. We will discuss ways to partner with your medical provider, your rights as a patient, and learn how to make sure they are respected as part of all medical decisions. During our patient safety discussion we'll review expectations and what to do to help receive safe care. There will be time set aside for questions and answers during each session.
