Painting for Type A Personalities NEW!

A blank canvas can be intimidating if you don't know where and how to start. In this class, you will learn how to bring structure and definition to your canvases before you actually begin to paint. We'll begin with a review of basic drawing principles, including blocking out general shapes, simple shading, and establishing perspective. From there, we will practice established Flemish painting techniques as we explore the step-by-step process of producing a finished painting. We'll discuss under drawing, imprimatura, umber underpainting, grisaille, color mixing, and glazing. We will build one painting over the course of the class, and demonstrations and exercises will be offered along the way. Artists (and personalities) of all levels welcome. A supply list will be emailed upon registration.
