I cannot do everything, but I must do something. I must not fail to do the something that I can do.
-Helen Keller
We know that earth's climate is changing. Now, what are we going to do about it? Taking action on behalf of the planet leads to a feeling of agency, which can help us overcome despondency and despair. In this class, we will gather together and form ideas and plans on how to take action now that will help offset the damage being done by current systems and habits that we may have fallen into. Many people across the globe are thinking outside the box, rediscovering the joys of fresh food, rejecting today's single-use culture, and coming up with amazingly creative solutions to save our planet. So can you! We'll discuss some of the "brilliant ideas" gathered from near and far that address living more sustainably: food rescue, gleaning, public vegetable gardens, rail trails, bigger sidewalks, pop-up parks, Little Free Libraries, clover lawns, living Christmas trees, green burial, and so much more. What are your brilliant ideas? What actions will you take to keep our planet livable? Join us to get motivated to be part of the solution.
