Beginning Illustration
An illustration is a picture, diagram, drawing, or any image used to interpret or illuminate text. Through a series of creative exercises, we will explore the relationship between literary and visual arts, while also learning basic drawing skills, including line, proportion, perspective, and page composition. We'll also work with cut paper, ink, watercolor, and collage. You'll learn how to create documentary images that tell an interesting story. Please bring a 3B and 6B pencil, eraser, sharpener, and a 12" x 18" sketchpad to the first class. Additional supplies will be discussed at the first meeting.
