The Alexander Technique   

Most people accept excess tension or muscle strain as a natural outcome of their busy lives or aging process, but you don't need to accept it. You can discover and eliminate the unconscious habits that are fueling your chronic tension or pain so you can move more efficiently. The Alexander Technique, developed by F.M. Alexander, is a mind/body education that can be taught in-person or online. Whether you experience the gentle hands-on process of a teacher to re-educate your body or whether you experience the integrated functioning this work promotes through verbal guidance, you improve your postural balance and body alignment, the way you move and breathe, and the way you accomplish your everyday tasks in an organic way that does not include muscular positioning. This work relieves compression of the spine, neck, and shoulders. It enables you to act more mindfully as you unlearn habits and postures that do not serve you. By exploring first-hand, the interconnectedness that the Alexander Technique promotes, you will experience better posture, increased efficiency of movement, and a deeper sense of well-being.
