Understanding Gorilla Behavior: Behind the Scenes at the Franklin Park Zoo
Gorillas are often a source of fascination and fear in movies, books, and other media. This tour offers a chance to study gorillas up close and personal at the Franklin Park Zoo. We will meet the gorillas' keepers and through viewing windows, encounter the gorillas face-to-face, applying what we've learned to collect behavioral data and answer our own questions. We will also look at the training program that gorillas are enrolled in at the Zoo and how we use that training to better understand captive gorilla health. We will conclude by learning more about efforts underway to preserve this endangered species. For students ages 16 and older. Discounts or waivers do not apply.
