Using Painting for Self-Transformation

Whether you are an experienced artist feeling stalled, a "non-artist" seeking to find your creative self, seeking to challenge new parts of your brain and being, or looking for a creative way to eliminate stress and seek joy— this course will help you transform barriers that stand in your path. We will learn ways of doing and being creative through a range of formal, experimental, and expressive exercises, techniques, and processes; we will use watercolors, acrylic, drawing, ink, mixed media, collage, and more. In the process of using art as an avenue of self-exploration, you will learn to trust in your own abilities and find ways to use painting to relax and enjoy life. Please gather paints, brushes, pencils, erasers and sheets of mixed media paper that you have on hand for our first class.
