The Pacific Crest Trail: A City Girl Walks to Canada

The Pacific Crest Trail extends 2,650 miles from Mexico to Canada through California, Oregon, and Washington. The path is 500 miles longer than the Appalachian Trail, and travels through seven National Parks, 24 National Forests, 33 Wilderness Areas, and crosses over 60 major mountain passes. The trail begins (if hiking north) with a 700-mile trek through the desert, then travels through the snowy High Sierra Mountains, the colorful Marble Mountains of Northern California, and then meanders through mystical Oregon. The PCT continues north through the wild and remote Cascade Mountains in Washington, and finishes in Manning Park, Canada. Join Boston native, Anne O’Regan, for a slide show and talk about her five-month journey on the Pacific Crest Trail. You’ll hear tales and view gorgeous landscapes along the way from her 2010 trek.
