Budgeting Basics for Grant Writers

Does your budget tell a good story about your organization? Your nonprofit budget tells a "story by numbers," and plays a pivotal role that aligns the narrative of your proposal package. The objective of this class is to help the grant writer understand and anticipate the powerful role of every line item and capture all the numbers that reflect the intent of the proposal description. Your budget can elevate the projected costs of a special program or the general operational expenses for running your organization successfully. This course will teach you how to get the advance buy-in of the foundation, to facilitate a comprehensive proposal packet that includes both the organization and program budgets as needed. Experience in the nonprofit sector is helpful but not required. The course instructor will provide a number of helpful resource materials.
