College Essay Writing Workshop

Are you a rising high school senior? This workshop with an experienced college essay coach will give you the tools and the confidence you need to get a head start on your Common Application essay. We will begin by discussing what college admissions officers are looking for, common pitfalls to avoid, and strategies for crafting a standout essay that reveals the individual behind the grades and test scores. In the second half of the workshop, you will respond to a series of prompts designed to help you identify a compelling story you want to tell that expresses the best of who you are. Students will have a chance to get individual feedback from the instructor—a professional editor and former writing teacher—about topics they are considering.
