Embroidery Workshop

Relax and enjoy a craft that appeals to both classic and contemporary styles, and join us for a primer on embroidery. Learn how to set up your design, while practicing traditional stitches, exploring different thread and wool options, assembling color palettes, and experimenting with options. A variety of examples and show books will be on hand for inspiration. Once you are comfortable with the basic concepts, we'll move on to learn techniques for transferring images, detailing stitches, choosing backgrounds, and accentuating dimension and color. All levels welcome. Please bring an embroidery hoop (size six to eight inches), a fat quarter or quarter yard of solid fabric, and embroidery floss (one to six skeins in coordinating colors). All other materials will be provided. A $10 materials fee is included in the course fee.
