Sewing Skills for the Adventurous

It's costume season. This class is for those with some sewing experience and who wish to take their skills to the next level. We will review the basics of threading your machine, and begin by creating a small bag. We will then jump into more advanced sewing challenges, using fabrics and techniques of your choice. Class will be broken up into two parts: a skills session where basic skills will be learned and practiced, and a studio portion where you'll receive individualized attention for personalized projects. In our sessions, we may cover pattern reading and preparation, varied stitching, hemming, zippers, fittings, embellishments, and notions. We have several sewing machines on hand, but students are encouraged to bring their own. A supply list will be emailed upon registration. A $10 machine fee is included in the course fee.

Classes will not be in session:

Monday, January 21 (MLK Jr Day)

Monday-Saturday, February 18-23 (February Vacation)

Monday-Saturday, April 15-20 (April Vacation)

Monday, May 27 (Memorial Day)
