Voter Suppression: It's not a Southern Problem. It's a Democracy Problem.

In building a more perfect union, we must stand united against those who seek to employ unjust and undemocratic laws in order to divide us and thwart the will of the people. This is not a Democrat, Republican, or Independent problem. It is not a Southern problem. It is a Democracy problem. When it comes to protecting the rights of all Americans to vote, there can be no middle ground. Join Pratt Wiley, in a lively discussion on the history of voter suppression and more recent attempts at it. Learn what we need to do about voter suppression as American citizens, regardless of party affiliation. Pratt is the President & CEO of The Partnership, an organization dedicated to enhancing the competitiveness of the region by attracting, developing, retaining and convening multicultural professionals. During its 33 year history, The Partnership has collaborated with 500 corporations who have sponsored 4,668 multicultural executives and professionals in the organization’s innovative leadership development programming. Pratt is a leader and strategic planner in fields ranging from law, politics, non-profit management and business management.  Previously, Pratt served as the National Director of Voter Expansion for the Democratic National Committee, where he was responsible for designing and executing the DNC’s program to ensure that every eligible voter was able to register and vote, and that every vote was accurately counted, from 2013 to 2017.
