Explore the four most common welding processes (SMAW/Stick, GMAW/Mig, GTAW/Tig, and FCAW/Flux-core) and the two most common cutting processes (OFC/Oxy-fuel and PAC/Plasma arc cutting).
All material, equipment, and PPE will be provided. Long-sleeved shirts, boots or other closed-toe shoes, and long pants (like jeans) are required. No synthetic or athletic wear is allowed.
Classes take place at the Advanced Manufacturing Center at 2570 31st St. Denver, CO 80216.
While at the Advanced Manufacturing Campus, participants engaged in welding workshops may be exposed to bright and flashing lights from welding machines and loud noise from hammering, welding, and cutting equipment. Participants can be exposed to possible burns, cuts, sparks, electric shock, fumes and gases. Participants may work with Oxy - Acetylene torches, band saws, belt sanders, shears, GMAW machines.
All participants are provided PPE such as gloves, welders caps, hoods, jackets, and safety glasses. Participants are expected to follow all safety policies outlined by the instructor.
