CCD offers an Advanced Legal Ethics class which qualifies as an LLP legal ethics class for exam eligibility. CCD also offers additional courses that could assist LLP applicants or practicing LLPs. Advanced Legal Ethics (typically offered in Fall)
As paralegals, you play a crucial role in upholding the highest standards of ethics and professionalism within the legal field. In this course, we will delve into complex ethical scenarios, dilemmas, and regulations that are pertinent to your role in pursuing the designation of LLP. By the end of this course, you will have gained a deeper insight into ethical decision-making, the code of professional conduct that you will be required to follow, and practical strategies for maintaining ethical integrity in your work.
This 10 week online course satisfies the required ethics requirement to be eligible to take the LLP exam in November. Upon successful completion of the course, we will notify the Office of LLP Admissions that you have satisfied that requirement. We will also provide you a certificate that you can use as documentation of completion.
Advanced Family Law (typically offered in Winter)
This course will provide you with a comprehensive understanding of Family Law in Colorado, in preparation for your Licensed Legal Paraprofessional (LLP) Exam.
As working and experienced paralegals, you already play a crucial role in helping families navigate the legal process in some of the most challenging times in their lives. In this course, we will study family law statutes, case law, court rules, chief justice directives, and scenarios that are pertinent to your role in pursuing the designation of LLP. By the end of this course, you will have gained a deeper insight into substantive family law, court procedure, protection orders, evidence, how to advocate and provide effective counsel to your clients.
Advanced Evidence (typically offered in Spring)
This course provides Licensed Legal Paraprofessionals (LLPs) with a comprehensive understanding of the Colorado Rules of Evidence as applied in family law cases in Colorado. This course is open to LLP candidates and LLPs already in practice.
