This two-day, general astronomy crash-course focuses on the contents of the solar system and other observable celestial objects that can be seen in the night sky, along with knowledge to perform naked-eye and binocular sky observations. Day 1 will consist of a lecture explaining the nature of the observable astronomical objects, how to navigate the night sky, general astronomy Q&A, along with demonstration of binocular use. Day 2 will consist of an evening binocular observation event, with several of CCD's binoculars available for use in a guided night sky observation of seasonally observable objects, including planets and moons, comets, meteor showers, stars and star clusters.
Both sessions are held on the Auraria Campus in downtown Denver.
