The Scholarly Publication Process   

Choosing where to submit your journal can be a difficult process. Authors must consider many factors including journal aim and scope, audience reach, publication frequency, impact factor, indexing, and more. In addition, authors must understand their intellectual property rights and the IP policies of publishers.

In this session, participants will:

  • Identify common characteristics of predatory journals
  • Identify the pros and cons of publishing in open access journals
  • Negotiate publisher contracts
  • Identify rights and permissions of specific journals
