Spend an afternoon walking down Market Street with the architect who arrived in 1991 to begin designing a mixed-use, compact, and vibrant town center, using the planning principles of New Urbanism. Another week, stroll with our current Town Architect through Savannah Square, along Longmeadow Street and around Hippodrome Park, identifying architectural styles and discussing the details of these streetscapes designed to help people get to know their neighbors and enjoy a unique sense of place. While strolling through the parks, learn from experts about the design and management of our public parks, trails, lakes and drainage system. Offering a different, distinct walking tour each week (rain or shine), this course will highlight those details of Celebration that might not be obvious to the untrained eye. Medicare, the federal insurance plan for seniors, provides healthcare coverage for Americans 65 and older. Although it’s the most widely used health insurance plan in the United States, Medicare never fails to confuse many pre-retirees and retirees. This course will attempt to demystify Medicare; further, it will identify the various components of the Healthcare System and how they interact with the Medicare Program. Michael Carbrey is not an insurance agent and will not direct anyone to any particular insurance program. Instead, he will help you understand some of your options.
