Introduction to GIS with QGIS (Online)   

This course introduces basic concepts in geographic information systems (GIS) and demonstrates their implementation within QGIS software. QGIS is an "open source" GIS software package and is available to users at no-cost. The course will be administered through the MSU Extension Canvas website (https://msuextension.instructure.com). The course lectures, instructions to practical exercises and applicable exercise data are available through Canvas course page.

Who Should Register?
• Individuals who are interested in learning about GIS and the QGIS software suite
• Individuals with no prior geospatial training, interested in analyzing, managing and mapping spatial data
• Individuals familiar with ArcGIS Desktop and/or ArcGIS Pro, transiting to QGIS.

Requirements
• Basic computer skills
• Personal Windows-based computer
• Reliable internet access
