The Loyal 14th Colony: Florida in the Revolutionary War

The acclaimed author, D.L. Havlin, will conduct a historical presentation about Florida's position during the Revolutionary War, covering the intrigues, chaos, and violence that Florida experienced. In 1763, Florida stretched from Natchez on the Mississippi to the St. Marys River that forms part of the border between Georgia and Florida. At one point, it was even traded for Cuba. It was Britain's 14th colony and was the only one to stay loyal to Britain during the War. It's people paid dearly for their choice. For 35 years there were periods of bloody violence in the state that made Dodge City and Tombstone look like Quaker Sunday school picnics. This is the story of why that occurred.
