To create artistic photography, you need to re-school your mind and your eyes. Study the work of 20th Century Icons of Photography and Famous Painters while evaluating your own work. Learn to move out of your comfort zone and start exploring new subjects, new ways of seeing, experimenting with different creative techniques and working with light and exposure to create more artistic photographs. Assignments and hands-on field work are designed to stimulate your creativity; during critiques you learn from your success as well as those of your classmates. This class is suitable for the intermediate photographer and requires good manual camera skills and a solid understanding of the basic principles of photography. Bring your camera gear to all classes. Dress appropriately for the weather. Not a Photoshop class. Bring your camera's owners manual, a 3 ring binder, pen or pencil and tripod if availble.
