      Prepare to be a lifeline in emergencies with our Healthcare BLS (Basic Life Support) course, primarily for healthcare workers and/or first responders. This training equips you with essential skills in adult, child, and infant CPR, AED usage, as well as includes additional life-saving techniques that can help those experiencing cardiac arrest, respiratory distress, or an obstructed airway. AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) Provider Course is classroom-based, teaches both single-rescuer and team Basic Life Support skills for application both in-facility and prehospital settings. Teaches critical skills of high-quality CPR, to recognize several life-threatening emergencies, use of an AED, rescue breaths with bag-mask, relieve choking, and closed loop communication. Upon completion, students will receive a two-year Certification Card that follows the American Heart Association guidelines.

      Meet the Washington State DSHS Adult Family Home Administrator education requirement for Adult Family Home business owners (provider) to become licensed as an Adult Family Home (AFH) provider or to be employed as a resident manager. Learn the concepts and principles of adult home management. Examine the roles and responsibilities of a licensed provider, the licensing process, business operations of the home, staff management, resident care issues, and resident rights. Students will be assessed on their proficiency prior to the start of class in English, reading, writing, and math. You must have a 6th grade level (ABE 3) in English and a 4th grade Level (ABE 2) in math. Basic computer skills are also required including accessing the internet, MS Word and MS Excel.

At times, these questions or comments can be about sensitive topics like religion, sexuality, personal beliefs, politics, or family values, and can be challenging for an educator to navigate in an open, culturally aware and inclusive way. This skills-based workshop is designed to provide teachers with a framework to effectively address students' questions and comments on sensitive subjects in a classroom environment.

    Learn from a tribal elder about the resilient Chinook Nation - and the past and current fight for federal recognition. Examine the shameful history behind broken promises and treaties. Discover the story and culture of the Chinook peoples who were indigenous throughout the Lower Columbia regions. Rich in resources, these salmon and cedar people developed a vast trading system, resplendent in functional and beautiful art.
