This seven-week intensive course will prepare students to take the National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) Fundamentals of Surveying (FS) examination - "the FS Exam". Concepts and topics covered over the seven weeks will include: the Public Land Survey System (i.e. section, township, and quadrangle layout, single and double proportioning, closing corners, meander lines), easements, title, deeds, descriptions, evidence, simultaneous conveyances, records research, rules of construction, riparian rights, order of operations, quadratic equations, triangles, degree to decimal degree conversions, bearing to azimuth conversions, magnetic declination, horizontal and vertical curves, area calculations, intersection of lines/slope, photogrammetry, statistics and probability, field measurements and corrections, differential level loops, geodesy, state plane coordinates, grid/ground calculations, least squares and traverse adjustments.

Microsoft Project should be one of the most frequently used tools in your project management toolbox. Learn the basics of Project; create a project from scratch; work with task types, scheduling options and constraints; set-up resources, resolve conflicts and pool them for sharing; manage the schedule consistent with the critical path and project baseline; consolidate projects; print project dashboards, views and reports and much more. Prerequisite: good working knowledge of Windows, Word and Excel. Level 1 and Level 2 textbooks included. Note: Attendance of the first session is mandatory. This course is a partnership with Green River College.
Access to a computer or laptop and good internet connection is required for this course. You will not be able to work in the MS Project application via your smart phone or tablet.
