Through this workshop explore the complex relationship between the U.S. government and Native American tribes through the lens of Federal Indian Law. An introduction to key legal principles, landmark cases, and policies that have shaped tribal rights, it offers historical context and critical insight into how these laws continue to impact Native communities today

Explore the foundations and evolution of tribal sovereignty within Native American history. It examines how Indigenous nations have asserted their rights to self-governance, through treaties, legal battles, and cultural continuity. Participants will gain insight into the lasting significance of sovereignty in shaping both tribal identity and U.S. history

This class explores why certain places, personalities, and battles remain under-researched, examining how different communities/approaches to history shape what is remembered, how it's told, and what may be overlooked or forgotten.
