Course Description:
This hands-on lab course is designed for learners seeking basic foundational skills in welding for personal development, trade advancement, or entry-level employment. Students will gain practical experience with basic welding techniques and equipment in including Shield Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GWAW/MIG), and Flux-Corded Arc Welding (FCAW) or Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW).
Under the guidance of experienced instructors, students will learn safe shop practices, proper equipment handling, joint preparation, and welding in various positions. Emphasis is placed on safety, technique, and skill development through guided lab exercises. This course is ideal for beginners or those looking to refresh their skills.
Prerequisites: None. No prior welding experience required.
Course Format: In-person lab-based instruction
