  • Battle Bots Robotics Camp - Williamson Campus

    Monday July 8th through Friday July 12th, 2024

    Monday – Thursday 8:30 AM – 3:30 PM & Friday 8:30 AM – 12:00 PM

     

    A 4.5-day Youth Robotic Camp will be conducted for middle school students. The primary goal is to promote excitement for Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Goals of the camp are learning concepts of programming, engineering practices, and teamwork. LEGO Mindstorms EV3 Education Kits and program development environment will be used for hands-on building and programming activities.

    Participants will build several robots during the camp, modifying and programming one for a BattleBot competition. The first four days will be allocated to learning basic LEGO robot build techniques and programming commands for movement, turning, sensing, decision-making along with combining the commands into sequences for solving problems. For the fifth day, participants will run a robot of their own design and build in the competition.  Parents are encouraged to attend the competition on the final day.

    Intended grade level: Rising 6th grade through 8th grade

    Students should bring a water bottle, lunch, and drink daily.

    Students should also bring a USB flash drive daily.

    Students will be immersed in the enchanting realm of special effects makeup at our exclusive Summer Camp! They will master the art of transforming faces using professional-grade products and cutting-edge techniques. Our seasoned instructor will lead them through the intricacies of crafting breathtaking fantasy looks, from whimsical creatures to awe-inspiring sci-fi masterpieces. Fuel your student's passion for makeup artistry this summer! 

    Intended for rising 5th - 8th grade students.

    Classes run from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday through Friday

    *Students will be applying makeup to their faces, necks, and arms/hands, so if they have sensitive skin, this may not be the camp for them.

    *Students should bring a water bottle, lunch, and drink daily.

  • From Script to Screen - Williamson Campus

    This conservatory camp will expose and provide students with hands-on experience with professional film & video production equipment and processes.

    Topics will include: Pre-production process (writing, planning, etc.), the Production process, (Grip & Electric, Lighting, Camera Operation, Sound, etc.), and Post-production (media management, editing, color grading, and delivery).

    Intended for High School students aged 14 - 17.

    Students are expected to be engaged during lectures. They are, also, required to participate in class activities and productions.

    Classes run from 9:00 AM to 2:00 PM Monday through Friday—allowing the time to get the experience needed.

    Students should bring a water bottle, lunch, and drink daily.

    Join us this summer at the Tools of Innovation Summer Camp, where young minds ignite their passion for technology, design, and problem-solving! Students will master tools and technologies including 3D printers, CNC, and a vinyl cutter to overcome design challenges and build a showcase product in Columbia State’s new Innovation Lab!

    Intended for rising 6th - 8th grade students.

    Classes run from 8:30 AM to 3:30 PM Monday through Friday
