The Pre-Apprentice Line-Worker Academy prepares students for an entry-level career in the electric utility industry by providing hands-on training and foundational knowledge in line work and utility safety. Students learn essential skills including OSHA safety standards, climbing techniques, equipment operation, electrical theory, pole-top rescue, transformer fundamentals, and industry best practices while developing the professionalism and work ethic expected by employers.
Throughout the 10-week program, students receive classroom instruction and extensive hands-on training designed to prepare them for employment as apprentice line workers.
Upon successful completion of the academy, graduates will be prepared to pursue apprenticeship opportunities with electric utility companies and contractors. The program is designed to provide the foundational skills employers seek when hiring entry-level apprentice line workers.
