The Grief Journey: Helping Clients Through Normative and Complicated Loss

Do you often encounter grieving people in your practice, but feel overwhelmed by their emotions, or bewildered as to how to be helpful to them?

This seminar will strengthen your ability to be present with the grieving, and to help them manage the range of emotions, the life transitions, changes in identity, and struggles with loneliness that are part of loss. You will learn how to distinguish normative grief from prolonged grief disorder, and how to respond to those who have lost a loved one to sudden death, violence, or suicide. The unique opportunities for post-traumatic growth and resilience during times of loss will also be highlighted.

This program is appropriate for Counselors, LPCC’s, Social Workers, Psychologists, Marriage Family Therapists, Grief Therapists, and Pastoral Counselors
