3.1 Advanced Chinese I

Advanced Chinese I is a 12-week advanced level Mandarin Chinese class where learners can discuss a relatively wide range of topics in Chinese and become capable of communicating in Chinese at a high level. Learners from CSU and the communities are expected to have completed Intermediate Chinese II as a prerequisite, and have a strong intention to continually improve their Chinese language skills and expand their knowledge. The class will be taught entirely in Chinese so that students will be immersed in the target language. After the completion of this course, students should be able to use around 1200-1500 Chinese words in daily conversation, as well as paragraph level writing. Cultural insights at this level cover a good variety of topics. Students will be able to give presentations on selected topics in Chinese. A discount code is available for those taking multiple CI courses at the same time. CSU benefit covers the tuition for qualified faculty/staff. Email Dr. Li at h.li84@csuohio.edu.
