The Ultimate Happy Hour: Joy Boosters for Busting Stress

4 Sessions with lunch

1. What is Joy? Do you know the difference between joy and happiness? Make and share your definition of joy by using this secret recipe.

2. Joy and Self-Care are Best Friends. Discover 10 easy ways of choosing joy over stress.

3. Joyful Expressions. How often do you tell people how much joy you get by helping others but feel tired and drained at the end of the day? Joy also means taking the time to care for yourself. Create a joy journal to expand the joy ideas discussed in classes 1 and 2.

4. Meet the Real You: Joy and Gratitude. Underneath the layers of stress and negativity, there is an amazing person waiting to show up longer than 3 minutes a day. With joy and gratitude as your guides, go below the surface and beyond survival mode to access your authentic and thriving self.

Rita Abdallah, LISW-S, ACSW, brings over 20 years of academic preparation, professional knowledge and life experience to her passion for serving others. She received a Master’s degree in social work from the University of Connecticut School of Social Work and an undergraduate degree from John Carroll University. She is a Licensed Independent Social Worker (LISW-S) and member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (ACSW).

Rita’s career accomplishments include: published author, researcher, speaker, consultant and volunteer. She has won local and state awards for her commitment to service. Rita has led and facilitated multiple workshops on health and healing.

In 2013, Rita co-founded a non-profit called “Destination Hope,” which promotes the art of positive living through humor, support and knowledge for individuals touched by cancer.

Rita believes that living authentically means healthy and daily doses of wisdom, humor and love. She strives to live mindfully, joyfully and positively and provides individuals and groups effective tools on using the inner voice for maximum outer expression. Just as a fitness trainer helps clients prepare and get through personal challenges, Rita assists clients in responding proactively to change.

You will earn 150 VikeHealth incentive points for participation in a Journey to Wellness program, with a maximum of 150 points per term. You must attend 80 percent of the program to receive the 150 points.
