Odyssey Program
The Odyssey Program at Cleveland State University’s School of Film and Media Arts, created through the generosity of Lee and Ageleke Zapis, offers high school students considering a career in the film and media industry or a degree in film and media arts an opportunity to experience what it’s all about while they’re still in high school.

Three-week immersive programs focus on storytelling, film literacy, writing, acting, directing, camera, lighting, editing in the creation of original work in a fun and collaborative environment. Divided into age groups of 13-14, 15-16, and 17-18-year-olds, three sections of twenty students each engage in an immersive program that culminates in short films suitable for entering into student festivals. Students may attend the day sessions or opt to board in the university dormitories for a more fully immersive experience where ideas can keep flowing 24/7.
