Reframing Resistance: Strategies for moving therapy along with challenging clients

Do you at times find yourself in a “holding pattern” in therapy with clients who seem passive, uninterested in change, or who continue making self-destructive choices? In this workshop, you’ll develop a fuller understanding of how building a strong alliance, and avoiding common therapist pitfalls, can powerfully change the course of therapy with these “resistant” clients. You’ll gain thorough knowledge of how to react to clients’ emotionally triggered reactions in ways that promote progress and positive change.

This program is designed for those who are working in the mental health, pastoral care, or coaching fields, or are enrolled in a graduate program of study leading to a counseling-related degree, with some clinical experience.
