Morality Matters: Using Critical Thinking and Philosophical Ethics in Clinical Practice    NEW!

Ethical dilemmas, in which no good outcome seems apparent, can arise in clinical practice. Professional codes give us a basic standard of conduct but sometimes fall short in more nuanced cases.

In this program, we will use philosophical ethics and critical thinking in the context of clinical practice to address a multitude of issues that may arise throughout ones’ career. You will learn about the basics of ethical philosophy and critical reasoning, how to assess your own ethical tendencies, and how to identify and mitigate any philosophical and ethical biases in your clinical practice. You will also learn the formal discipline of philosophical reasoning to be a better clinician and a more independent thinker.
