Connecting with Clients and Co-Creating Change   NEW!

Despite vigorous debates over which brands of therapy are most effective, studies show such differences to be small at best. In contrast, effective therapists across all types of therapy possess common characteristics. These include abilities to engage with clients and form working alliances, convey understanding of their issues/contexts and the hope that treatment will help, flexibility to work with a diverse clientele and make adjustments when treatment isn’t working, interpersonal skill, conversational expertise, judicious use of self, self-awareness, and life-long learning.

We’ll explore these issues in an interactive as well as didactic format toward the goals of better connecting with clients, fostering treatment alliances, and co-creating change.
