Introduction to ArcGIS I (Geographic Information Systems)  

Cleveland State University’s Maxine Goodman Levin College of Urban Affairs is offering an introductory ArcGIS workshop taught by Dr. Mark Salling, GISP and Dr. Beth Nagy, GISP. Classes will be held in the GIS computer lab (Room 40) at the Levin College of Urban Affairs at Cleveland State University located at 1717 Euclid Avenue, Cleveland, Ohio 44115. This course introduces participants to ArcGIS and its component applications. Participants learn how to use ArcMap, ArcCatalog, and ArcToolbox and explore how these applications work together to provide a complete GIS software solution. Introduction to ArcGIS I covers fundamental GIS concepts as well as how to create, edit, and work with georeferenced spatial data. Participants become familiar with the ArcGIS graphical user interface (GUI), and learn how to manipulate tabular data, query a GIS database, and present data clearly and efficiently using maps and charts.
