Tai Chi Swordsmanship for Health    NEW!

Unlike a sword fighting course that has the sole purpose to cut down your enemies, this virtual course of live and synchronous instructions on Zoom focuses on swordsmanship for the sake of health building through teaching the Chen-style Tai Chi Swordsmanship. The course aims at integrating Tai Chi principles with graceful sword movements and postures, fostering skillful sword handling that projects intention and strength to different parts of the sword, enhancing focused awareness and perception-production coordination, and improving body-mind-universe oneness. Adults of all ages are welcome.

The course meets on Zoom every Tuesday evening from 6:00 – 7:30 pm for six weeks from October 5 through November 9. After you register for the course, the instructor will email you the Zoom Meeting ID and Passcode to the classes. The instructor will also email you links to his weekly videos explaining breakdown performances of the postures covered in each class to enable you to practice out of class.

A learning sword is required to take the course. Tai Chi retractable swords are available at affordable prices on Amazon. A wooden sword, about 36 ~ 37 inches long, would also serve the purpose.
