CWU Continuing Education Course Offerings

Water Wellness Workout

The Water Wellness Workout course is designed to introduce and maintain personal fitness in a water medium. Participants will experience a variety of exercise routines specific to improving activities of daily living and muscle tone. Open to swimmers and non-swimmers. Geared toward aging adults, but adults of all ages are welcome.

Offered at the Aquatics Center on the CWU Ellensburg campus, this class meets Monday through Thursday, 9:00 - 9:50 am.

"It’s not only a great workout but a wonderful social outlet for seniors. I moved to Ellensburg almost 20 years ago and because of Water Wellness, I've met so many new friends."

*Please note: Registrations taken after the start date of the class will NOT be pro-rated.

Water Wellness is not running at this time.

Unfortunately, as part of a State agency, Continuing Education faces additional restrictions beyond those for many local organizations. We are required to follow policies enacted by Federal agencies, due to our Financial Aid status, State agencies, due to our public University status, local agencies (such as Kittitas Public Health) due to our locality, and our own University policies. In the current health crisis, this places our unit (Continuing Education), in a difficult balance between complying with the multiple levels of requirements and our service to our participants.

We truly value our community programs and are proud to be able to provide for the many needs of our community. We look forward to being able to do this again, and are exploring all available options.

Is the CWU pool open at this time? Yes. The aquatic facilities are open to our athletic teams, however, those participants are following the restrictions set in place by NCAA (college athletics) rules, which include not only the distancing and reduced numbers that you suggested, but also restrictions regarding consistent team attendance (the participants in a given time block are always the same), consistent living arrangements (most of the student athletes live in shared or known housing), and routine health checks with our student health center. Essentially, they are adhering to a restrictive standard of greater isolation and health verification, in order to participate.

Again, our desire is to resume offering our programs as soon as possible, and we may have some solutions that will allow for this.

Please stay connected with our website for announcements regarding updates for this and other programs. If you have questions or ideas in the meantime, please feel free to reach out directly, email is best during our remote work. B
