Revising Your Short Story

Revision can make the difference between a rejected short story, and one that gets publishers excited. In this 4-week class, instructor G.G. Silverman will show you her own techniques for editing short fiction and making it attractive to publishers. We’ll also learn how to workshop our pieces with supportive critique partners. Students must bring copies of one work in progress (a short story up to 5000 words long) to class for workshopping, and will leave the class with a revised piece of writing.

NOTE: Students must bring enough copies of their story for everyone in class, as well as their preferred editing tool: either laptop, or pen and paper
