In the fall of 1991 the “Seattle Scene” or “Grunge Scene” hit the top of the charts and changed the rock music scene forever. Nirvana, Soundgarden, and Pearl Jam all released classic records in the same few weeks as Metallica, Guns ‘n Roses, and the Red Hot Chili Peppers, joining them as platinum selling acts and putting grunge into a permanent place in the pop culture and fabric of the era.
