Language and Culture   

Speak Japanese! This class is an introduction to Japanese language and culture designed for students with little to no experience. We will focus on conversational skills, pronunciation, everyday expressions, basic vocabulary, simple sentence structure, and basic grammar.  Students are expected to review and practice between classes. Reading and writing are not covered. The class syllabus will be available on our website.

Required: Access to the Internet and Zoom for class sessions, and an email address to receive class information.

Continue to refine your vocabulary, pronunciation, grammar, and ability to master routine conversations. 

Prerequisite: Spanish: Intermediate 3.

Learn to master basic Spanish conversation and useful phrases for different situations: meeting new people, traveling, ordering food in a restaurant, a doctor's office, and more.

Prerequisite: Spanish Intermediate 1
 

Continue with Spanish conversation and grammar skills, and learn to conjugate verbs in the present, past, and future. Prerequisite: Spanish: Beginning OR must have mastered the present tense conjugations of the REGULAR and IRREGULAR  AR, ER, IR verbs.

It's never too late to develop your foreign language skills! Impress your friends and colleagues by developing your conversational ability in real-life situations in your community or while traveling. Study basic pronunciation and grammatical structure in a nurturing, interactive environment.

Have you always wanted to learn French, or are you returning to it after many years? This course provides the fundamentals of the language: essential vocabulary, pronunciation tips, and a strong foundation in grammar that will help you advance beyond app-based learning. Alongside standard French, the course emphasizes contemporary spoken usage and culture, enabling you to understand modern French better as you actually hear it on the streets.

Designed for learners with a basic foundation, this course expands your ability to understand and communicate in common situations—whether ordering at a café or restaurant, shopping, finding your way around a city, navigating public transportation, or discussing upcoming plans. You will develop more complete sentences, improve listening comprehension, and gain confidence interacting in everyday exchanges. Cultural context and contemporary spoken usage are integrated throughout the course.
